I would like to see a tech article on a camaro subframe installation.  Despite all of these aftermarket ifs kits available, this is still a popular swap but I haven't seen an article about it lately.

I agree with you completely, Ross. A quick browse of some of the other classic truck related forums will confirm the fact that there are still a lot of people out there asking about the Camaro front clip install. It's about a 50-50 mix as to whether these people are talking about an AD or TF Chevy/GMC truck, but a tech article covering the install on either of these trucks would be a great help to those still contemplating an IFS for their trucks.

These days you can find Mustang II based IFS crossmembers all over the place, and they do have their place. They're a great option. There are even complete rolling chassis out there ready for purchase. But when you consider a Camaro front clip can be had for less than $500 in most areas, less than $200 in some places, it might be the option of choice for some on a tighter budget.  

Guys, read some of my recent editorials and/or replies to comments in Postage Paid. Bottom line is, I don't stand behind the installation of "subframes" showcased in a magazine format--there's too much room for user error for one, plus the plain fact of using "used" frontend components (how many people have actually driven the Camaro they're swiping the front clip from?) is not something I find suitable for publication. Hem and Haw all you want about me standing on a soapbox in defense of my advertisers, but gentlemen, that just ain't the case. Sorry.
However, I've outlined a possible story on making a subframe right, either with an existing Camaro or Volare clip install, but don't get your hopes up regarding a full, fresh installation...won't happen while I'm aboard.
