Before I remove upper + lower a-arms is there any tricks,measurements I should note? I have never removed a-arm shafts before.  

it's all pretty basic, I just finished a front end conversion on my 1960, removed the torsion bar suspension and installed a complete front cross member and a arms from a 1965. I bagged and labeled everything, took some digital pictures for reference. And pay close attention to the alignment shims on the a arms. Put them all back in the same order and it will get you close on your alignment.If you are going to be removing the ball joints, make sure you measure from the adjustment sleeve to the center of the ball joint, that will help get you in the ball park for the alignment also.
