I have a 64 chevy fleetside with an inline six. I want to convert to power steering. I have all the components exept I can not find a bracket for the pump. Does anyone make these or is this a custom part? Another thing I want to do is a tranny swap. I would like to make it an automatic. can anyone tell me what I can do to do this in the least expensive way. this truck will be a daily driver I want to reach speeds of at least 80 miles on the freeway. What I want to know is what tranny bolts to an inline six 292? if any? DOH!!!

Any Turbo 350, 400 or 700R should bolt right on to the back of the block.  The 6-cylinder and V-8 have the same bolt patterns and I have a 1964 327 V-8 and mounted a 350 TH Automatic to it.  You may have to chenge the gear ratio in the rear differential to a higher ratio like a 370 or so to run on the freeway speeds and not be over-winding the engine.
