first has anyone used the mustang 2 ifs on there pickup or has everyone used a front clip from a camero or such. i need to know what my best bet would be?

They are both fairly straight forward but you might try looking at a pacer front end I have done all three and the pacer was the easiest of the 3

I'm facing the same dilemma...Have been doing the research, and have come to the conclusion that although a prefab MII IFS setup is more expensive up front,I believe that I would end up spending more on the camaro clip that I already have. Also, the MII has been engineered, and is basically a drop in. My vote is for the MII.

For the Camaro Clip installation, there is a video available from CPP! www.classicperform.com
But why cut your frame OFF? There are so many great IFS units out there!
The one I prefer is made by Gary Martz. I spent many months looking at the others and went with Martz Engineering from his shop in Pennsyvania.
Because with a Martz IFS, you don't have to chop the inner fenders up to clear A-arms.
And if you ever seen a Camaro/MNova or other GM clip in a 55-59 they all have "an ugly" looking inner fender to A-arm open space!
Gary Martz designed his 55-59 IFS to sit outside of the frame rail so the inner fender stay original! And he has all the spring, brake and steering options you can choose from to get the best and safest IFS ever designed and installed!
And Gary Martz is a Race Car Chassis engineer who knows his stuff! And he uses 1/4 plate for his parts! (Not like some thin steel parts from the other guys.
You will have to ask Gary for the sheet on the 55-59's I don't think it is listed on his web page.

I've got a Fatman's Mustang II under my '56 Ford and it looks very clean and was very easy to install. Nothing against the Camaro subs but with the Must.II, the frame doesn't need to be cut and one can not deny the very well supported aftermarket items that are engineered specifically for the Must.II IFS. I ended up with a power rack & pinion, 2" dropped spindles, new 11" rotors with new GM calipers, and tubular upper and lower control arms. The whole setup looks fantastic and very clean and simple. Another nice thing about it is that I was using all stock junkyard Must.II parts at first and slowly upgraded to the better looking tricker stuff as I could afford it. I can't say anything about a Pacer frontend except that I've never heard of anyone using it until I read one of the other responses. Anyway, my vote would obviously be for the Must.II but whatever you decide, good luck and have fun!

RB's Serious Hardware part#1R-456, or D&P Chassis Tech, which was shown in Classic Trucks Oct. 2000, are custom fabricated frame clips. These products are some what like the Camaro-Firerbird front clips, but use GM A, or G body components(say '87 Monte Carlo for instance.) The beauty of these clips is that they are located by the spring perch mounting holes, so that the measuring of the front axle centerline is already done, and the core support and bumper brackets mount right up. Besides it is almost impossible to find decent F body clips other than Chris Alston, or Detroit Speed and Engineering, which are nice, but would require extensive adaptation. Nothing wrong with M-2 either Fatman and Heidt's are good from what I hear
