Hey Everyone
A while back I believe that I read an article in Classic trucks, where an individual made a fuel tank filler access on the left side rear tail light. I'm in the process of gathering the hardware to put a tan in the rear of the truck. I would like to see if this type of access is available, is being manufactured or a copy of the article/ the name of the individual that fabricated the access. All help is appreciated. Thanks Duanes

My gas tank filler comes straight up through the bed. I had to cut out the side filler hole and weld the cap to the top. My bed is metal so I used a regular gas door. Don't worry about torching and welding a gas tank, especially when it is full of water.
68 chop top 327 5 speed Stereo and AC. A real hot rod has a clutch. Anyone can modify it BUT it takes a real man to chop one up. See my truck in Reader's Ride and vote on it!

I have a bed box that sits inside not on top of the bed rails so it on the bed floor which looks better to me. I put a 15 gallon fuel cell inside it and it fits perfectly. Also it keeps the weight inside the wheel base which is better for cornering not that matters much but its a thought, and it saves you from a headache of having a filler neck period.

For what it worth. I am using a Jeep Scrambler 1978-1986 15 gal. tank. The filler will go right through a hole in the frame. There is no real strenght conserns after the rear end other then hold the bumper. I am going to box the section were the filler neck goes through with a tub insert and run the filler through it. Then it should be strong enough to put a hiden hitch through the lisence plate hole. Find any size tanks at www.quantaproducts.com over 500 tanks to chose from.
