Guys,  I just started wiith my 72 C20 402BB.  My lovely wife stopped to look at the progress and the first thing she asks is "Where is the a/c?"  Well, she had a point.  I live in TN where we just finished 100+ temps and well she was right and I need a/c.  I have noticed that to retrofit a truck that didn't get it at the factory is a little steep.  If you try to by original parts and mention  68-72 chevy the prices go sky high.  My question is this, are there other chevy a/c parts that came on an Impala or somethng that crosses over to the trucks?  I know some parts are unique like the vents and the firewall a/c box but what about the dryer, condenser, lines, compressor etc..   Please help as I think there are other folks out there like me that don't want to experiance Iraq again while riding in my truck.  Thanks the Mower Doc

Yes, you can always go to the catalog to get the new stuff but what myself and others are looking for is what parts are installed on the 72 chevy 402bb that was also installed on an Impala or belair or Chevelle or some other vehicle.  It is amazing what parts I have found in the past that is worth next to nothing if it came out of plain jane car but the same part with C20 truck and "it rare and "they didn't install those on trucks so it's now worth $$$$$.  I will purchase from the catalog but are there other options out there.  BTW Thanks for the reply and the info.  The Mower Doc

try to find a parts interchange manual online. It was written by paul herd but is out of print.Google "ISBN" and look for a site that will match the ISBN and find a copy and the seller's site. The ISBN is 076030680x, I found a copy on amazon.com at their Japan site. Hope this helps!!!

I have two a/c parts trucks and one or two underdash aftermarket units which could be fixed. I am just east of Knoxville.   tnchev@yahoo.com
