My son and I have swapped out the oringinal TH350 tranny in our 71' Chevy truck for an updated TH400 (Came out of an 80's Chevy van).  We had to shorten the driveshaft.  The truck has to reach very high RPM's to shift in second (Late shifting) and verily shifts to 3rd.  I was told the TH350 was mechanical and the TH400 was electronic which may need a TV cable (Throttle Valve)? Any suggestions?
