Help!  I want to get rid of the spare tire wheel well that currently 'lives' on the fender of my '55! I thought about buying another fender...but the one I currently have is in excellent condition!  Does anyone know where I can get a panel that is made to replace that wheel well with?

sorry i dont think any one has made that yet, the only way around it is to get an old beatup fender cheap with that corner in good conditon and cut it out and weld it in place.

If you want to get rid of the dimple/dish/notch, could you simply grind the corner of the weld to remove the dish, flip and re-weld?

On the other hand, you can probably swap the fender for one without the notch - there are always people looking for the notched fender - that would save you and someone else the work of cutting and flpping that piece.

Not sure how well thses links will work, but there are a couple posts about this at stovebolt.com  One isn the general truck fourm a guy wants a what you have and another in the paint and body section.

I found another bed that was in bad condition but that corner was good. I cut tahat corner out and welded it in place of the wheel well on my good bed. Filled it, sanded, sanded, and sanded it, then  primed. Can't tell anything was done to it.
