Has anyone done this conversion? How did you attach the pump onto the 235 engine? I cannot seem to find after market bracketing to attach. My 56 has an alternator conversion up high.

As far as I know there aren't any brackets out there to buy for this conversion. I had that same quest a couple of years ago, so I got creative and fabricated my own lower pivot mount and used the stock generator adjustment bracket. I used the stock lower generator bracket mounting holes on the block. Good Luck! It can be done.

Thanx for getting back. I came to the same conclusion. I am going to try to put above the alternator which is where the generator used to be. I guess I should be lucky that I can weld and fabricate. Maybe I'll draw the brackets up and begin to package up a kit for conversion.

Yo Dude! Ya need to mount the altenator up above the power steering pump. If it decided to leak, it's gonna leak down all over your altenator and probably screw it up. Then ya got two problems to fix. If you can weld and fabricate then ya ought to be able handle this. There ain't nuthun' to this aircraft work, man!  Imagine it-measure it 3 times- cut it once- weld er' up Walla!
