Happy New Year everyone , I just bought a49 chevy 3100 also & it is a total piece of junk , its pretty well stripped out what the rust hasnt taken . The original engine , trans & rear end is still in it but that will come out , I will install a 283 or 327 w/3 speed stick & a 57 chevy car rearend . Iam trying to find some old speed parts for it & I dont want to put any thing on it newer than 1965 . I know I will have to make some exceptions in some areas . I hope I can get some moral support from you fellows , by the way someone told me once you can use front brake drums & hubs from a 1949 - 1956 chevy car to get 5 lug wheels on the front of my truck , anyone know for sure? Thanks , MarauderDan
