I am looking at a 53 F-100 to buy and it has no title and I cant find a VIN number on the drivers door or anywere else. Is their one stamped on the frame or anywere else I might look for. If not is their any way to get a tile without the VIN number. This truck has been stored in a barn for around 20 years so I know it is ok but they lost the title. Thanks for any help!!

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I own a '53 F100 and my VIN is located on a plate on the inside of the glove compartment door. I'm not sure where else it might be located. I'll check my orginal service manual and see if it gives a hint.

All you guys having VIN problems there are a few locations to check passenger side frame rail on top, just ahead of the master cylinder top of the framerail. A little light sanding and you may just luck out
