bold][/bold]Hello everyone. My name is Justin and I'm in the process of purchasing a 1959 Chevy Apache 3100. Its a step side but does not have the original bed. I'd like to find a bed to replace it. Preferably one with the spear tire indention on the rear fender. The motor is a rebuilt 454 that was bought from a local engine dealer. The truck has been sitting for a number of years. I had the chance to look at it a couple days ago. The engine looks relatively clean. Under the valve cover looks well taken care of. The current owner told me I should be able to start it right up after applying some “magic oil” into the cylinders and manually rotating the engine at least once so as to not damage the cylinders. Of course this will be after I get a new fuel tank for it. If anyone knows a good place to get one, please let me know. My plans so far for the truck are to install air bag suspension, so I can raise and lower the truck when needed. It has a standard 3-speed transmission. I don’t know the condition of it though. If anyone has any suggestions for a first time project, your input is welcomed with open ears. Thanks and wish me luck.
Justin of San Antonio, TX.

Justin,

NICE another BIG WINDOW CAB!  Please buy it and save it from the EVIL Crusher!

You can buy new bed sides and they even sell the driver's side fender with the indent for the spare tire these days!

email me for any help?

Justine,

Nice catch!  I live in California and there is a place here that you could buy just about everything you need for your truck.
