An update on the progress. Front suspension is done except for the shocks.

I started on the rear suspension.Got the 4-link bolted to the frame, now I just need to but the gears and coilovers to finish.

A little update on the project. I finally got the engine back together. I had to remove the cam to get a groove cut into one of the bearing surfaces. It seems that this year of big blocks takes a groove to feed oil to the upper part of the engine. Lucky i found out before I started the engine.

i got the transmision put back together also. I installed kelvar cluches, a Transgo shift kit, and a 3800 stall converter.

My rearend is also back together. Welded the final parts to the 4-link.It has new 373 gears. all new bearings and seals, new brakes (rebuilt cylinders), hard lines, and Goodrich brake lines.

A quick update. As you can see my floorboards weren't that rusted. I had some rust in the cab corners, and replaced those. My running boards were all dented from the years I had it set up as a lowrider. I replaced them and braced them up a bit.  I had a couple of sets of holes for seats, and a tear where my shifter use to go. Good thing I was lazy those days and just bent the metal back.

I finally bought the coilover shocks I needed for the rear. I installed them in the stock location, but I don't like the angle they stayed at. (about 45 degrees, i want around 20 or so) i am making some brackets that will shift the lower atachment point about 2.5 in more towards the center. If i don't like the ride heigth I will redo the rear crosmember. I need to see how it looks with the drivetrain installed.

This weekend I will install the drivetrain, and weld up my trany crosmember. I will see if I like the stance of the frame. Then time to start puting the body back together.

Finally got around to take a few pictures of my progress. I got the complete drivetrtain installed, and put the cab back on (new rubbers of course). I mounted the engine about an inch and a half or so forward. This was for the HEI and big block valve cover distance. I did a number on the firewall like a dummy when i was younger.

I finished most of the brake system. Not going to install the last few brake lines until I put the front clip on. That way I know how to route them.

I stripped out most of the interior, and had to fix another mistake I made as a teenager. tearing a big hole to fit the stereo.

Not to much time to work on my project. I only make it home for a day and a half every weekend (been away since October). Well I was home for the holidays and got a little work done. First flip front end still I ordered hasn't came in. I did weld up the doors (pop door kit), and got them in primer.

I also got the patch panel welded on the dash.

I'm hopeing to get some work done once the project I am working on is over (around March).

Well looks like I see a little light at the end of the tunnel. This is the last week I have to work away from home. I sure will enjoy the time at home, just not the killer overtime checks. My front end came in this weekend. Here are a couple of raw shots. First a quick mock up on the truck, then a shot that shows the groove setup at the fender joint.

Hope to get some time in now that I'll be home. Even though I have a quick project that I want to squeeze in first (procharger install on my Vette, thread to come)
