gas tank relocation

i own a 1969 chevy c-10 swb stepside pickup and it has coilsprings and i want to lower the truck and relocate the gas tank will i have problems with lowering the truck and relocateing the gas tank i have already bought the relocation kit from brothers

You shouldnt, is the relocation going to be puttin the tank in place of the spare? if so then no problems should occur

it should go where the spare is i just hate the smell of gas and i am going to make this truck a street truck

I love the smell of gas... as weird as that may sound. Maybe its just in my blood. haha

my wife hates the smell of gas too! cept every hard right turn and we get a little in the cab. I just tell her it's a new air freshener!! pull in the garage and shut er down. come back in a half an hour later and smell, heat, fuel ,oil,(rubber??).Aint it great!!
 Its an old truck. It's what happens!!

I relocated the gas tank to where the spare was and lowered the rear 6 inches. Used the C notch idea. No problems at all.
I relocated the spare to the garage!  


68 chop  top 327 5 speed Stereo and AC. A real hot rod has a clutch. Anyone can modify it BUT it takes a real man to chop one up. See my truck in Reader's Ride and vote on it!

I used a Jeep Charicke on my 63 Its a neet tank. It has a flange around the center seam with bolt holes so no need for straps. I don't know how your sending unit will work I am going to weld my 63 sening unit in the Jeep tank.

Use the tanks from Suburbans! They were always located in the rear.
