Purchased a 1952 Chevy without title (I do have a bill of sale) and was told the owner had pastaway, Truck was part of an estate sale.  Before I spend a lot of money on this project, how do I apply/get a title.

Truck has a vin plate and is readable, and I know about the duplicate titles. But it will come back in the last owners name, what would be the best way to procede. Any info would help!

Upstate South Carolina area.

I purchased a 41 chev pu at an estate sale here in Missouri when I was in High School (many year ago).
Had to go to the law firm associated with the estate.  They got me my title. Most likely the same in SC check with them.

Just go too the D.M.V with your bill of sale and you shouuld be able too register the truck. If the truck has not been registered for along time, more then 5 years, thats better. It's off there computer and you will need too have the vin plate check at the D.M.V. hope this helps

Hope everything works out for you and the DMV doesn't turn into a headache.
