Going to put bbc in my 65 that I'm restoring any help on which perches and headers to use and anything else I might be in store for, would greatly be appreciated

Dropped a 402 into my '62. Yours will be easier, since you already have the later bellhousing.

Get 73-up 6-cylinder frame mounts.  The upper holes come out right where you can get into the frame and install nuts & washers.  The lower tab needs to be hammered down to match the front of the crossmember, before drilling.  You can use the late style V-8 motor mounts.  You will have to bump the firewall back, to clear the valve covers.  If you run a 12" clutch, you will need an 1/8" spacer between the block & bellhousing, so the clutch cover doesn't rub.

I used Headman Tigh Tube, flat collector headers, with boot protectors, from Speedway.  Your exhaust will be easier, too, as I had  to work aound the torsion bars.  


1949 Chevy 1 1/2ton, home-built hydraulic wrecker.  Rustoleum industrial black, with flames.  Flamethrowers out 5" dual stacks.
1962 Chevy C-20, 402BB, 4-speed, 3.90 positrack. Hauls my camper.... among other things.
