I have just picked up a 66 mercury truck and know very little about their history. I have found a donor truck for body parts but it is a 64 or 65 and a 3 hour drive. My question is are the body styles etc the same between these years. Thanks for any and all help.

Lucky guy, there hard to find. Your Merc is nothing but a Ford with differant emblames. They were done to ship to Canada. They did this to about 1970. It was the same with cars.Check some history its intresting how they changed some of the trim and tail lights for descise. So check with LMC and see if the part no. are the same OR maybe Vintage Ford or Sackramento Ford, Dennis Carpenter. I realy think they are the same. But I don't know that much about thoese years of Fords.

Thanks for the info. I am going to look at this other one on Sunday so I will know then. This guy has four 64 to 65 ford / mercury trucks for sale so I'm sure I will find something. Blake

Blake,

I have a 55 ford, and was wondering if you would'nt mind sharing the info on the parts trucks you have found.  I live near St.Louis, and am also trying to find another 55 effie... maybe for parts or even a second builder.

                  thanks,   Fuzzy

Drove out on Sunday to look at the trucks. He has nothing as old as your 55 and all his stuff is junk anyway. Trip was a waste of time. As well they are in western Canada.
