I HAVE A 1954 F-100 THAT I PURCHASED WHEN I WAS 14, NOW 10 YEARS LATER AND A YOUNG FAMILY IAM FINALLY GOING TO START ON IT. NOW THE QUESTION IS WHAT ENGINE TO USE. IT HAS A 455 BUICK TH-400 IN IT THAT RUN GOOD. I HAVE A LATE MODEL ROLLER 302 AND AOD SITTING WAITING FOR SOMETHING. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST CHOICE ??????????????? THANKS FOR ANY INPUT

With all the Hemies olds and buick engines showing up in cars and trucks. I would keep the the 455,the mounts are all set up. If you ran the 302 you would have to change mounts and all. Just find a 700R4 and put behind the 455 and about a 3:25 geared rear end even a 3:00 with the big block you would do good. That buick is a realy good motor and made for cruson and a lot more power then the 302. Just make sure your suspension is up to snuff.

Sounds like keeping the buick engine would be the easiest thing to do.
