1950 ford truck

I have recently inherited a 1950 ford truck.
Serial # - BD83H50-14211 Engine # - 0E3285
I believe it was origanally made in canada, but really don't know. Can anyone decode these #'s??

I don't think they made any Fords in Canada. If it were made for Canada it would be a Mercury. Go to www.lmctruck.com right after the index is vin# page. As far as the engine try fordtruck.com Acording to the #'s you put on the web its a 48 with a V8 Check it out

both the Ford and Mercs were available in Canada

I just finished researching my truck, the stamping on the frame is BD83H49-1788. The conclusion is: BD means Ford.(rather than Merc).- 83 means Pickup with 114" wheel base. H means lefthand drive. 49 means year.The rest is the production number. I hope this helps, yours is a 50 F1 Ford pickup.
