I just joined a few days ago and posted a comment about which headers to use on my 66 shortbed Im only 17 restoring my truck with no help and now im wondering if anyone knows what would be a good distance to drop my truck so its not too low but looks tough? or which size of coils to use?

I've generally lowered my trucks with a 2" lowering coil and a 2" lowering spindle, this will still give you a nice ride, if you go more in the coil it will make the ride too hard, if you go too low in the spindle you may end up with the lower A-arm below the rim, this could cause fatal if you blow a tire. In the rear you can mount a large airbag where the springs were, because those rear ends are equipped with swing arms, or you can use a lowering spring combined with a lowering block, but again because the swing arms are fat you could easily end up below the rim, hence the same problem. If you are using bigger than 15" rims the greater the distance.
