Hi all! I am working on my 1959 chevy apache 3200 restomod and... I was wondering if anyone knows which gas tank I can use? I put a fuel injected engine in (1988 TBI 350). I thought the 1988 blazer full size tank would work but it seems to be a little to deep (12 inches). Any one?

If you want a new one that most likely will fit check out LMC Trucks.

I make a special tank that mounts to the inside drivers framerail. The original filler location remains functional this way, and you can still carry a underframe spare, but loose the awful in cab tank and gain storage/audio room. Downside is I can only manage to fit a 15 gallon tank in this location. As far as feul injection goes you do not need a in tank pump, just be shure to mount the return line between the external pump and the tank.

A 15 gallon tank is not too bad, at lease it isn't a dinky 10 gallon like all those compact cars travel around with.

I would like to see any pictures you may have of it. Where did you put the filler neck? Thanks, Torrey torrey.duink@gte.net

The filler neck is in the stock location, saves repaint and metal fab. A hole is made thru the floor behind drivers seat, and then procure a radiator hose the right shape and lenght[and vent tube] to fit stock filler neck. Or use those Ingleze metal flex hose as I did.
Those guys who mount a tank in the rear are screwed if they ever haul anything, and then need gas.
Imagine unloading everything, just to get to your filler cap in the middle of the bed floor![in the middle of a crowd staring at you, as well] Many of use use these trucks as shop trucks/advertizing, so I KNOW it happens.
As far as pix, well, I'm in the middle of pat/pending that pup..I can make you one, in shiny diamond plate aluminum, somewhere in the $350.00 dolla ballpark, but untill I start advertizing it it's gotta be a closely guarded secret!

I got mine above the rear end, and ran the filler neck through the fender. having the filler neck in the bed would suck

I understand that having the filler neck in the bed looks cool but I would find it to be an inconvenience every time I would have to fill up my gas tank.
