I am hot rodding a 1947 KB2 and have chosen to install at Total Cost IFS, so cannot help you with the GM part, but would like to communicate with you about other parts of the project as my project goes forward. My front frame width is 28-1/2 inches and yours should be about the same.

I have been advised to move the front axel centerline forward of the original position and I have tack welded my front end into that position and prefer it about 1 to 1-1/2 inches forward.

Have you chosen tire and rim sizes yet for your front and back?

Wrote to me direct if you wish at wenkeith@hotmai.com.

I think that is the same width as my 63 chev. if that is the case you should be able to bolt a 63-87 chev crossmember in it. Maybe it would be to wide?

I am building a custom built KB3. I took a 1946 international one ton welding truck and am building a custom street rod. I took a 1990 S-10 frame and running gear mounted the cab. Took a 1948 chevy step side bed and droped it to 5 1/2 in off the ground. Found a set of rear fenders on e-bay for a 46 international.Had it shipped to me from Seattle, A friend of mine gave me 2 Keystone classic 12-15 wheels that was in the top of his barn. I found a whole set of Keystones 6-14 at HWY 127 yard sale for $10.00 with almost new tires....I figured out the door window chanels are the same as a R model mack truck. The rear window rubber is plane window moulding from a 1972 ford truck back window. I use the bench seat out of the S-10. tilt wheel and wiring from the S-10 doner truck whitch already had flowmasters and duele exhaust. I bought a 4x8 sheet of 14 ga. steel and made the full running boards. I cut the door and back windows from a old slidding door from my mothers house she replaced years ago after I shot out one side when I was 7 years old with a BB gun. It took 14 bags of sand to sand blast the entire truck when it was tottaly apart. Almost 2 gal. of body filler witch mostly ended up on the floor. A thick coat of yellow 2K primer to seal off the elements. 2 gal.  The paint is candy green with gold matalic flakes and 6 different pearls. $580.00 gal.  Now I have to paint the truck white before I can paint the green and clear.  Anyway.... I have built this truck up to date for less than $1500. That is a running 1946 international so called KB-1  LOL  with power disk brakes,Tilt,Cruse, power windows including frount windshild, automatic w/overdrive flowmaster exhuast,255-15 tires on back and 205-14 tires on steers setting on old school Keystone classic wheels. I will sew the interior myself in ostrage skin.  This truck is going to be a gift to my 15 year old son when he gets his drivers permit.
