Can someone tell me what the shift pattern is for a 1963 305 3/4 ton with an automatic transmission? This is the commercial version tranny. There's no park. I'm trying to get one started and don't want to start it in gear.

What kind of truck are we talking about here? (make). If you have a Chevy w/305-V8 you need to do some simple research on the transmission identification because it did not come stock with a 305 with auto because there was no such thing in 1963.

It's a 63 gmc 305 V6 with auto trans. I had a sheet at one time that gave the pattern but I can't find it. There was no park. It was meant to be shut off in reverse and that was suppose to work as a park.

Try going to www.60-66gmcguy .com , I hope that address is correct as I'm trying to remember it from my old memory . If not , just put " 1963 GMC truck forums " into a Google search and it should come up with something .Good luck !

I checked there, but didn't see anything useful. By all means, check to your own satisfaction. I can't say I found anything useful, anywhere.

I got it started. The shift patter is " Neu - 2nd - 1st - Rev " For parking you are suppose to put it in reverse and shut if off.
