Would a single dash light that stays on drain my buddies battery in a 65 chev c10 pickup? Not sure why the light stays on it is a over speed light whatever that is. Any help be great.

Yes, probably not overnight but depending on the condition of your battery it will over time. The only lights which can be left on for long periods of time are LED which have very low power draw, these are used mainly on modern stereo equip and other accesories. Just reach under the dash and remove the bulb until you can trace the problem it should not effect anything else.
