Bought a real solid 52 Chevy PU with a weak original engine.  Included with the truck is an additional motor and trans.  I think it is a 235 but dont know for sure.  I have looked at all the decoders out there and am still unsure.  The stamping in the milled boss behind distributor reads 1214I05I922.  One decoder identifies this as a 61 1/2 ton PU.  However, under the the 1214 stampings there also exists HAA that was stamped over.  This would indicate a 216 from the year 1950.  I would like to replace the engine with a 235 for a driver and keep original engine to sell with truck if and when I decide to sell.  I'm new to this forum and havent had an old 5 window for over 35 years.......any advice as to verifying spare engine year and size.  Thanks in advance.....

The 235/230/250 CI motors have a valve cover that bolts to the heads around the edges.  The 216 has a ribbed valve cover that bolts to the head down the center.

I hope by your handle you are not thinking of putting lambo doors on that truck.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your project.
