Blower Motor to Deluxe heater sleeves

Does anyone have an easy and or good way to connect the vent to the blower, and the blower to the heater? I got the new rubber sleeves from Truck and Car Shop, put them on one side, rolled them back like a condom, and tried to roll them on to the other part. No such luck. By the time I was done, I'd broken each connector sleeve. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
