I'm a " Dodge truck guy" and general mopar enthusiast.
I have just started work on a '56 Dodge pickup and am gathering info and ideas on engine mounting details, suspension "stuff" etc. Maybe we can swap info at some time.

I have recently purchased a 1978 D100 (a limey green metallic color) sweptline standard or longbed, (not sure which) with factory air, auto and a big block 400. I am looking forward to restoring this to its former glory with some additional touches such as an airbag setup and flipscreen navigation etc.

My dad gave me an 86 Dodge W150 4x4.  It has factory air, ps, pw, 318, auto trans.  I've been looking for parts for it online.....but it seems like nobody has anything for dodge before 1994!!! Ugh!!  I really need an axle shaft for the left front..dad broke it.

Welcome Pitman66 to the Dodge forums, I hope you find the axle shaft you are looking for to repair your ride.

My '65's steering has gotten worse over the years. I've figured out adjusting my steering box, then rebuilt my front end, with a kit from pst, (new kingpins), but its still worse than it should be. I suspect the link between pitman arm and front end, (driverside, about 12" long)(not sure what this is called)( also, by pitman arm, i mean arm attatched to steering box, i think thats right). Any comments/ suggestions? Late model replacement/ same size?, how to rebuild?, other ideas. thanks.

I am working on a 56 Dodge pickup also.  So far I have stripped it down and painted the frame and suspension, replaced the engine with a built 318, replaced the steering box and hooked it to a Chevy van tilt column.  I built a custom dash with full instrumentation and rewired the entire truck.  I am in the process of painting it, one part at a time.

The biggest issue so far is that I cannot get the rear brake drums off.  Any suggestions?
