Hi, im new the site and i am in need of some serious help! I own an all original 1950 Ford F-1 pickup with the flat-head V-8(still running) standard 3-speed on the floor STOCK tires, wheels, and cromed centerline hubcaps. Its done nothing but sit in my neghbor's heated garage sence 1952. When i bought it, the truck had only 2500 one-owner miles. In the last 3 years ive only put on 100 miles due to the fact that i know ABSOLUTELY nothing about how to up-grade any of these neer close to 60-year-old parts without causing undue migranes in the classic/custom truck world. If u can help me I can give you a massive list of problems that Ive had and thought that Ive fixed. Also I need help on the size of the flat-head in the truck. I would post a picture of the beautifull pristine (somewhat)truck but thatll have to wait till I get back from the desert(active military on deployment).

in my opinion (doesnt mean you should take it) i wouldnt molest what seems to be a pristine classic, if you want to try your hand at a hotrod/restomod, I would find something already hacked on or already beat. However that being said, you can find plenty of parts suppliers in the mag and the last 10 or so mags had articles on these body style trucks so that may be the best place to start.

It would be a shame to molest the truck . What you need is patience and step back and take one thing at a time. Start with each component at a time. ie: brakes, cooling etc. Have fun with it is the main thing.... Another thing that people forget is this era truck was not built for comfort. It was a work truck ..The engine is a 239 ***
