I am looking to add power steering to my 1958 Chevy Apache. It has a straight axle. What it the best way to do this? Please help~Sweets~
For my 56, I picked up a CCP conversion, and found a Saginaw from a 71 pickup. It gets welded onto the outer frame. I dropped my straight axle 3". The tuffest part is the power steering pump install. No one sells a straight 6 conversion bracket set, so I made my own. Worked out well. If you have a 283/327/350 then it is a breeze. Brackets available galore. Email me and I'll send some pics. email@example.comRob

Hi Rob,just bought a 1966 C10 Chevy and think of adding power Steering, only thing is i am a novice...would you share your experience, findings? Would be a great help.Where can i find the parts, what parts are the best for my truck, budget?...What's your opinion on just having a new steering box, Idle arm,pitman...installed? Would it really improved the steering?I have a 305 cu in 5L, heard it's very similar to the 350??Cheers!Anthony
