what the buying public (especially in the mid-70's) didn't understand, probably due to a lack of adverising, LUV stood for Little Utility Vehicle

Seriously folks, why are we refferring to street rods as something seperate?
These old f-100s and Apaches ARE the modern equvalent to a 32 highboy, if your a hotrodder/customizer.
NO RULE as to having to have the motor match the make.
If you're going down the road of motor matching make,it would only make sense to have matching numbers to the VIN. as well.
Now.
How manyas got the original motor in your pre 1960 truck?
I say dare to be different.
Caddy northstar in a chebby, Hemi in a Ford,in get sooooooooooooo tired of seeing a chevy small block in EVERYTHING.

I feel the same way. Keep Chevy all Chevy. Keep Ford all Ford. But, to each his own. I like stock restorations, keep them classic. "My Opinion Only"

thats me.I want the outside of my classic original.under the hood im about what works.I updated my mastercylinder with one out of my ford doner truck.so why not a motor.I personaly cant see going out and buying a motor and tranny when you have one even if it is a ford, dodge or whatever just to let the one you have go to no use.I have a 1958 chevy,1968 gmc,1977 ford flairside and a 1974 chevy.all trucks.I dont fix them for shows or for selling.I love old trucks and all of mine are for driving.I dont want something just taking up room in my shop.if it means puting a ford in a chevy or puting a chevy in a ford,so be it.so long as i can go get it when i want and go for a ride im fine with it.if i was hard core about it i wouldnt do it.but by all means its up to everyone to do what they want with their own rides.when its yours it only really matters what you think.

Im a Chevy guy but I just cant seem to waste any of my emotional energy on what motor someone puts into a vehicle. Good food for thought, but I really feel a total waste of time to worry about. I think the most important thing is to have people keeping the hobby alive, no matter what brand of anything.
My 5 cents worth.....
