I'm getting ready to put a small block in my 65 c10 that had a straight 6 and I'm trying to figure out what I need to do for the motor mounts. I was told I have to change the frame mounts by one person and that the straght 6 mounts would work by another. Can anyone help me?

What size engine are you dropping in?

The sbc will drop right in as long as the original 6 cylinder was not a 292 . The 292 had different motor mounts that will not work with the sbc . If it was a 230 6 cylinder , then the stock mounts will work . If it was a 292 , then you'll have to find some 230 mounts. Otherwise , it's a simple swap ! I did this same swap a couple of years ago and if you have more questions , I'll be glad to help if I can .

Of course with my luck it had a 292. Do you have a part number or any idea where I can find the mounts I need? Thanks.

I've looked at those. They are just the mounts that go on the motor right? I was told I needed to swap the perches that go on the frame. Any idea where to find them? I know performanceonline.com sells a nice swap kit and thats probably what I'll go with, but I was wanting to find some stock mounts.

I would call them up and see if they have the perches as well. I doubt they wouldnt stock them.

well brothers has the tubular mounts that ive seen but i just dont want to spend $130 on them because im planning on pulling out the small block eventually. i was hoping to find a stock perch for the passenger side and save a few bucks, but i guess if thats what it takes id rather spend the money and be able to drive it than have it sit and collect dust. maybe ill try to make some my self. thanks for the help.
