57-60 Front Suspension Upgrades

My 58's front end is about to give up on me. King Pins, Brakes, and steering have served me well for years but now I want to upgrade rather than dump money into old design. I have been told by three different people that the Mustang IFS is too weak(sloppy ride)for my 58 short bed. I met a guy that has just put a 68 Camaro clip under his, but he hasn't got it on the road yet. My Uncle has a very clean, complete front clip for a 68 Camaro in the garage and has offered it to me but I want to make sure I am on track before I start parting with hard earned money. I am in the military, so obviously the whole custom frame is out of the question. Can anyone enlighten me as to a good, middle of the road, non-bank breaking alternative? Is the Camaro clip the way to go? The truck is for driving and not winning "best in Show". I am ditching the Y-Block for a newer small-block so the front will be lighter, and I plan on driving this truck almost daily. It is very clean but I would like to modernize a bit. Your input is really appreciated. Ken

You should be able to use the Camaro front end. Here is a link to a 1959 Ford F-100 feature from the October 2009 issue that used a 69 Camaro front end.

Thanks, but that is the article that has me the most confused. So, this may sound stupid, but what does it mean when they refer to the clip being Zd 2'?

Don't know, I've seen other features with Camaro clips and they never use the phrase Zd2. Maybe some fancy hype or nothing at all.
