measure the widths of the two frames
are the cab mounts different...shape, location
axle (front) centerline to cab mount centerline
these few checks should give you an idea of what you're up against

with a good welder, nearly anything is possible...

I was going to put my 69 C10 on an 89 frame because i got the 89 dirt cheap. Before i began i drew both trucks on Auto Cadd, besides the widths being almost 13" different (didnt really matter) the length was also 4" longer on the 89 frame and gave me a gap between the bed and the cab. I figured that with all modifications needed it would be easier to just cut my long bed, i found a disk brake setup from a 71 in the scrap yard i work at and later i'll throw in some leaf springs and save me a lot of time.
As for your setup. if i recall my measurements and research, early 60's up to 88, the frames are the same width (i have to double check though) but after 72 i found that the cabs are 4" longer so there might be some work there. If i am wrong, someone please correct me.

68scott385 is right though, with a good welder, nearly anything is possible.

I myself just dont have the place to do it.

i saved my drawings and some research, if you need anything let me know ill be happy to help. g_n0va@hotmail.com

Going on 2 years in November. It is very powerful and has so many things, i still find new things with it.
i started at work with some drawings our engineer sent me. Got a 2004 version 30 day trial and told my wife i was going to be very busy for a month, learned how to do basic lines and circles then little by little got better.
Since i got good at it so quick our engineer sent me to get training on Autodesk Inventor, drawing in 3D. its even harder. I picked up some Auto Cad DVD's recently that have helped improve my drawings.

I took a course learning Autodesks 3ds Max (same company that makes auto cad) and wow the 3d world rocks but there is so much to learn it's crazy. I made a wine glass once. Thought I was cool till my teacher busted out a concept car in 1 hour.

Yeah 3D is awesome, it takes longer to draw but at the end it pays off. i work mostly with Autodesk Inventor making frames for equipment we install in our plants. I also made a 3D air system with piping, valves and fittings, it looks cool. Took me like 3 weeks though.

I wouldnt doubt something like that would take 3 weeks. How long did it take to render?

I didn't render it, the work i do is just for our company, so i dont really work on presenting my drawings. What i draw is what we usually build here. Im pretty sure it would have taken a few hours to render though.

A few hours sounds right, I remember rendering out a few seconds of video once. Wow that took hours...never again.
