I have a 72 F100 that has a carburated 302 in it.  I recently got a 89 TownCar with a Fuel Injected 5.0  Does anyone know how hard it would be to take the motor from the Lincoln and put it in the truck.  Also would the transmissions line up or would I be looking at a major ordeal trying to do this.

I would think the engine would fit fine , it's a 5.0 liter ( same as a 302 ) but I'd recommend using the transmission ( maybe the newer tranny has an overdrive ? ) that comes with the 5.0 ! You know it will fit the engine ! The major part of this swap is all the electronics , sensors , and wiring harnesses that go with a F.I. engine . Maybe you could use a carburetor and a regular distributor instead ? I'm not an expert on this so I can only offer generic advice . I would suggest going to www.ford-trucks.com , a Ford truck only site where I'm sure you can get better advice than I can offer ? There are many other sites like that where you could ask your questions . I'm sure if you do a Google search , many will come up .Hopefully this helps ? Good luck !
