Hey everyone!  I have a '51 truck that i am looking to put a tilt steering column in, no column shift on it.  Was wondering if anyone has had luck with a certain column fitting better than others, as in a chevy s-10 or monte carlo, etc.  I am going to be painting it so i don't want to go the flaming river or ididit route. It will need to sit at stock placement or really close to that as i am 5'10"  and need the leg room.  Thanks in advance!

I think those companies DO offer 'raw' or paintable columns.
I often look for seventies caddy seville columns, almost invairably have both tilt and telescopic.
Most any pre 90 GM column is as easy as another.

I know ididit has a kit for your truck in a paintable version. Comes with an under dash mount and firewall mount.
