steering column for 50 chevrolet truck

I was wanting to know what steering columns would be the easyest to convert to my 50 chevrolet truck i have a junk yard whith a lot of older cars and trucks to choose from i would like to have tilt and keep it gm, i have a mustang ifs front end, new to this need some help

Prolly a seventies [I think] chevy van column as they did not have the ignition on the column, so your dash and wiring would be simplified.

I think the van column would work, I don't know how much modification would be needed but I have seen trucks in the past use them.

The fab to retrofit any GM steering column is about the same, really, save the ignition location. I use Caddys 'cos they got tilt/telescopic.

why not have the ignition on the colum and use the original as a power supply like a cig lighter? That way you can use just about any colum up to the early 80's
|
