We haven't got the truck on the road yet, but most of the transmission oil seemed to be in the rear end, as the transmission had a low and the rear end high oil level.  We disassembed (needs u-joint) and I see some sort of seal in the tube, but checked our maintenance manual and it makes no mention of a seal.  Anyone with any thoughts on this?

What transmission and rear end are you using?
