I have a 1968 F100 4WD. I'm looking to put power brakes in it. Any suggestions? Possible to replace with slightly newer model? I have to order out of state 'cause I'm in Alaska, or find parts in a salvage yard. Any info will help. Thanks.

I know there are kits out there but I'm not sure who has them. Try Dennis Carpenter or LMC Trucks.

Look for a '73 on up to a '79 F-100 with disc brakes and get the spindles to put on your axles or you can change both axles. Get the power booster and master cylinder http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p281/tailgaterdude/File0003.jpg[/IMG]] and proportioning valve. I did my '68 and it makes a world of difference..Dude

Can I assume that the brake lines that I currently have will work?

Dude, thanks for the help. I assume the spindles slip in nice and neat? Do I need to worry about different axle sizes? I can get parts from a salvage yard. I just want to make sure they'll all marry up, especially since the spindle swap is completely new to me. A brake job is not. I guess I need an idiots guide to spindles! I have a friend that has a '74 that is going to bring in his Haynes shop manual. I have the original shop manuals for my '68. Thanks once again! -j
