Filling the seams...

When it comes to the seam that runs across the back of the cab roof, from one drip rail to the other, does any one have suggestions on what product to use to fill it? I've heard of some welding it smooth, but I'm concerned of puting too much heat into the sheet metal and warping it. Does any one have any experience using Evercoat's Metal to Metal filler?

Are you talking about the drip rail itself? If so there is a product made by Crest and 3m called self leveling seam sealer. It drys smooth and can be painted. It was very watery so practice with it before you apply it.

If you want to remove the dip rails all together Custom Classic Trucks did an article on how to safely remove dip rails with no heat damage or warping to your cab. Check it out: http://www.customclassictrucks.com/techarticles/0908cct_1957_chevy_pickup_truck_shaved_diprails/index.html

Actually I'm refering to the seam between the roof panel and the back panel that runs from one side to the other. I clean out all of the factory seam sealer, and media blasted the area, so now it's clean and ready to de filled.
