How do I get the door glass out so that I can TRY to install door glass channel & track guide? Just bought the truck for my wife. Chevys are new to me. I drive a 36 Ford.

Thanks Joe

are you wanting to replace the complete felt run channel that goes around the complete glass or the lower metal guides that holds the felt, also does the truck have vent windows?

I put in a door latch that was defective. It would not release. I had to cut part of the door panel to get my Dremil in to cut the latch out. I had to cut the track & the felt channel to reach the latch. Thus I will need to replace both plus the new latch. Can't figure out how to get the window out. Maybe I have to remove the whole vent window frame and all. Not sure how to do that.

1951 5 window 1/2 ton chevy 3100.

Thanks,

first remove the inside window frame, then the felt should pull out from around the glass and out of the rear run channel and the vent window frame which is also the front run channel. under the felt is two screws that holds that rear channel to the door after it is removed the regulator will have to be loosened so it can be removed from the glass track then the glass will tilt and come out of the door towards the inside.

Thanks,

I will do it this weekend. Will removing the two screws allow the Track guide to come out? I know the two screws on the inside of the door holds the bottom of the guide. I will have to replace the Channel & track guide when I get the new latch in.

Thanks again.
