Hello all,
I'm restoring a '63 Ford Econoline with 3 on the tree and a '65 straight 6 cylinder out of a falcon. This is my first restore project and I've decided to make it out like the mystery machine. I got this truck from a private dealer in Wisconsin and had him ship it to me here in Tallahassee, FL it drove pretty well for a few months as I put more work into it but it stopped driving again about 3 months ago. got it started with a little elbow grease but It's idling oddly and hesitating a lot on acceleration. I filmed a few videos so you guys could see and hear it. Any help would be great.

How long has it sat? For now check points and condenser for adjustments or replace if you have not done so already . Then check fuel. Disconnect fuel line at fuel pump and check for clean fuel then if you can blow air through fuel line back towards fuel tank and have gas cap off and have some one listen for air going into tanks ..If you suspect a dirty line change fuel pump and install a in-line fuel filter with sight glass between pump and carb........Dude

probably idle jet gummed up and acelerator pump dried out. need to spray carb cleaner in carb, maybe take out idle jet and spray in there, but may need carb kit to fix pump.but check fuel flow first.

I had a similar situation with my '68 f100.  I changed the plugs and adjusted the carb.  It was running very rich.  Maybe check any linkages and springs on the carb.  mine was pretty rusty and gummed up.

It's only sat for about 3 months the sound I get is almost like a choking or sucking sound the fuel pump is mechanical and although it fits it doesn't look like the original one should. maybe it's not pushing enough fuel? should I swap for an electric pump because the replacement is no longer available.

It would be an easy swap if you did.
