Rebuilding a 42 chevy p/u and it has what I believe is a 63-66 chevelle 10 bolt rear end. I have a set of corvette rally's that are the same bolt pattern as a chevy s-10 but the bolt pattern on the end is not the same bolt pattern!how can i swap the original axels for s-10 axel shafts

First of all, they didn't start making Chevelles until 1964. Next on the mistake list, if the rally  wheels fit the S-10 axles and not the axles in the rearend in the truck, then it's not a Chevelle rearend. They were also a 4 3/4" bolt pattern. The way I see it, you have two options. 1  Switch the rearend out to one that your wheels fit.  2  Have the axles in the existing rearend redrilled to the 4 3/4" bolt pattern. You'll also need to have the brakedrums drilled to match.

The wheels maybe the same bolt pattern but I bet the offset wont be the same. Cars usually have a +35-42mm offset while trucks have a +10-15mm offset.

Quit tryin' to maks things difficult!  If the Vette wheels won't fit the axles, then they're probably a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, assuming that it's really a GM rearend
