Plow truck coil springs?

Hi guys, this is my first post here...
I picked up an old 78 F150 plow truck the other day. Hit a few bumps on the way home and the front end bounced up and down so badly, I thought the rear end might go airborn! I ran the VIN and the truck was originally a 6cylinder, but the last owner swapped that out for an old 352 V8, and added the plow.
Am I able to use F250 coils up front, or something else, or should I order a set of heavy-duty aftermarkets for a 150? Same question for front shocks. I don't want to change the ride hide, it sits nice now, just shady driving...
Snow is coming guys, I need some input.

Hi killerklown: From my expereance i would say if it is at the right ride hieght there is nothing wrong with the springs. The shocks must be toast replace them with some extra heavy duty ones and it will fix the bounce.It's no fun riding a pogo stick!!

I agree with Autotec, about the ride height & shocks.  You might consider air shocks, or airbags inside the coils, for when the plow is mounted.

An F250 does not have coil springs so that is not an option. But the other comments sound right to me.. Replace the shocks. You mave to add some weight to the back to counter balance the truck with the plow on it..

thanks guys, I guess I can just pick up a set of Ranchos and see what it does.
