Hi Guys,

I am new to the community!

I just bought my chevy and will be doing a full restoration.   I am starting to save money for a new suspension and braking system now.  I wanted some info on what is the best system to put in.  I will be taking out the old and just using the frame.  Could you please help me pick the right front end to select to make it ride like a sports car.  I will be putting in a V8 and hoping to get 400hp out of it when all said and done.

Thanks,

Aaron

Give Fatman Fabrications a call.  They build full front cross-members for you year.  I think for around $1500.00 to $2500.00 dollars should be able to buy you a complete front cross-member plus the front tubular control arms, front coil-over shock suspension, and the front disc brake system.  It all might be powerder coated also.

Thanks

I will take a look,  I have also checked out CPP.  I am also trying to figure out what would be the best set up for my rear. CPP has a Coil link suspension product but is it really worth it?  I want this vehicle to handle great at stock or a little lowered ride hight.  Will the standard leaf springs and put some traction bars be really the same with half the cost?  I am trying to save as much as I can but have updated handling. Plus my friend who is helping me rebuild knows more about the mechanical side and wants to take out my chevy rearend and put in a Ford 9.  I on the other hand wood rather keep my original and I plan on putting in 400hp so will this stand up or should I go the ford rout?  I have never driven a 1963 truck so I am a little unsure because my truck right now is all in pieces.  Since you own won can you give me some info as to how your truck handles and what you did?

Thanks so much!

Aaron
