I have purchased a set of Door lock cylinder & key sets from Vintique Inc. for my 1950 F1 truck but I am looking for some installation instructions before I start drilling holes in the door.

Thanks

The stock door locks only came on the passenger door ....There is an Allen screw in the door edge .. Pull the rubber gasket back and you should see a hole inside that hole is your Allen screw. Hopefully it will turn . Use some penetrating oil several times over several days and hope for best . There is all of the brackets inside your door already there for a stock door lock . The lock mechanism turns 360 degrees. NOT 30 degrees each way like newer cars and trucks. I don't know which door locks you bought . Are they replacements for a F-1 truck?? Are they universal?
The drivers door does not have anything internally  for the stock door locks. If your locks that you got from your supplier are universal ,they should come with instructions. If not ,then call then for some tech support.....Dude
P.S. If you can find a '51 or '52 Ford F-1 or F-2/F-3 and up Deluxe cabs came with door locks on both sides . The doors are interchangeable.

The doors on my F1 did not come with locks. The set that I purchased are universal and I will call the tech support.

I will look at the '51 or '52 Ford F-1 or F-2/F-3 doors.

Thanks

There's a good chance that the passenger door lock has been welded over or even bonded over. Out of the hundreds of trucks that I dealt with, I have yet to see one without a lock.............There is always a first time though..If it is covered up check the door edge for that hole and that would be a clue ......??
.. Dude

Dude, Thanks for the info. You are correct about the passenger side door. It does have the hole with the allen screw in it. The driver side has the hole but no screw.
I think the holes were covered over with sheet metal. I used a magnet on both doors to check. I will have to check with the lock supplier to find out what the dimensions need to be from the center of the handle.
Have you seen any aftermarket parts for the driver side door? Or will I have to get the parts from a 51—door.

Thanks

Check one thing that just crossed my mind. What type of wing window latches does the truck have?. . Is there a button to push or do they just swing down and up without a button? Also look inside drivers door and see if there is a place for an Allen set screw. There is a lot of the parts on the '48 thru '52 trucks that are interchangeable.

The wing window latch just swings down and up with out a button and the driver door has a hole for the allen set screw.
