Hey Guys,
I'm pulling my 283 out of my 58 apache and I can't make any progress.
I have all the block/bellhousing bolts out and I have an 8th inch gap between the two. I have jacked up the tranny and oil pan in multiple places but no go.
I have read that you need to raise the engine while simultaneously pulling forward but nothing there either. It is a 283 mated with a four speed hydroglide.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any kind of cover on the bottom to gain access to the area between engine and tranny? There are bolts that hold torque converter to flex plate.......Should be about 4 bolts.......Dude-

Thanks man, yeah I forgot about the torque converter. Will I have to lock it in place?

Ok, so I removed the flexplate cover and the torque converter is bolted to the flexplate with a kazillion bolts, half of which are unaccessible. Help!
