Got the timing fixed as best as I could. Another problem seems to be with the Holley 1 bbl on my 1953 215-6 cylinder. The idle circuit does not seem to work properly. With the vacuum advance disconnected the truck will only idle down to 800 rpm, with the vacuum advance hooked up the truck idles at about 970 rpm and the timing is at full advance and doesn't change as the rpm increases?
Is this a carburetor problem, or a distributor problem because of the vacuum advance, or both? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if there is an intake manifold for a 2 bbl that will work on the 215 six-cylinder. Thanks. Johnny

The intakes are the same for several years I know there is a an Offenhauser intake for that engine 2 ones and 3 ones. Clifford Research used to have a 4 bb intake and if I remember right a two 4 intake. There are also headers and other speed equipment . If you want to put a 2 bb carb, look for a 2 to 1 adapter.... Clifford Research 1-888-471-1161 1-951-1161........Dude Not quit sure what it is with your timing without hands on????
