Hey guys!  First time poster here!
I have a 1979 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 that I've had since 1981! The time has now come to restore my ole trusted steed to her former glory. Well, you know what the cab corners, rocker panels, and cab supports look like, so I won't bore you with those details! My question is this: We all know of the front-end styling change that went into effect in 1981, but has anyone ever tried to swap out a pre-1981 cab with one from a 1981-1987 model? I know their are some differences in the cowl and wiper mounts.  Just trying to decide on a $150 1985 cab with "no rust...guaranteed!", as described by the current owner, or do all the cutting and welding on my own cab.

Thanks guys....

Welcome to the forum 100pcttn,It should just bolt right on with like you say the wiper update you could go to LMC Truck online and cross referance the dash parts but i have several and my boys are mixing them together and if it doesn't have something there the holes have divits where they need to be drilled go for the rust free cab save a ton of work.
