Hey all, my name is Steve and i am trying to restore my dads old truck and was hoping to get some advice. The bullet side on the outside bed panel is crushed in and the guy at the body shop wants to replace rather than repair but i have had no luck locating the part. Also i cant find full door-skins only lower part. Im thinking i will just have to order new door shells and the bedside bullet may just have to be bondoed up. This guy has been sitting on my truck for over 7 months and hasnt touched it even though i have given him patch panels and cab corners. Im thinking about getting it back from him since he doesnt seem to have the time or urge to fool with it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey everyone out there. I spoke to Fred from Freds truck parts and he told me the parts i am looking for are non-existing. FYI I recently purchased some doors from Rusty Dusty Classics that were garbage. Dustin sent me pictures that didnt show the true condition of the doors. A 500$ lesson on why to be careful when ordering parts off the net.

I buy all my sheet metal from LMC truck Parts. I've had good luck with them on my 59 Fleetside and the 64 Suburan I had before.

I have heard that the after market doors don't fit right, major gap issues. Have you had any experience in this area?

I haven't bought any aftermarket doors. I just found a good used rust free drivers door for my 59 for $150 after looking on craigslist for about 2 months

Thanks for the info. I love Craigslist and will try and find some parts there.
