Hey guys, we are getting ready to start a partial restore on a 1963 chevy stepside truck. We are going to be putting 4 wheel disc brakes, suspension kit, new wiring, steering column, 489 big block with 400 tranny. What I would like info on who you guys think the best components and where to get the disc and suspension kit for this truck. Would like some suggestions. I've looked at classic performance but wanted some other options. Thanks.
Performance online is a company I bought tubular a-arms from, no complaints. I have a "Right stuff detailing" disc brake conversion kit on my 1967 GTO, kit was complete and everything fit really well. CPP which you mentioned is good, their tubular trailing arm and cross member kit is awesome for the back. You can also just go to your autoparts store and buy 1972 upper and lower ball joints, spindles, master, discs, calipers, brackets and everything will bolt right on. Just depends what style you want (stock, cross drilled rotors, bigger calipers, etc) and your budget.
I have bought tons of parts from brothers truck parts. i think they are cheaper then LMC. I bought the front and rear disc conversion from them.
